Towns/Communities/Villages In The Philippines

One might wonder how the average Filipino lives, while there are big cities in the Philippines the majority of Flilpinos do not live in large cities. Even within the boundaries of big cities, such as Cebu, there are many poor suburbs. I think most Westerners would think of them as villages or towns or communities.

Included here are photos of the "Sitio" (enclave) where the Limpangog family lives within their Barangay (barrio/village). The neighbors are within very close proximity and the narrow single lane road was just paved in September 2012. Some of the photos you see on this site, of the road and basketball court, were taken prior to it being paved.

I hope the photos will give you an idea of sense of community, the slow paced life which they live and how it is simple in contrast to life in the big cities of many Western nations. Despite the hardships it's a very pleasant place to live.

The following four (4) photos are of their former house now occupied by their uncle, it's very small. They literally carried it to this lot next to their present home.
