Transportation In The Philippines

You may find transportation in the Philippines and many other Asian nations unlike that in your own country, if you're from outside of Asia.

For example in the Philippines you will see tricykads/triciklad, also called pedicabs, tricycles (a three wheeled motorcycle with a type of side car), jeepney's/multicabs, "habal habal" (which is a multi-passenger motorcycle) and various other improvised forms of transportation.

Here is a family on a motorbike
(NOTE: There is a helmet law but it's not strictly enforced, on occasion there may be compliance check points)

Here are a three (3) photo examples of a tricykad/triciklad (also called a pedicab)

A few photos of "tricycles"...

Below is a photo of a street in the city of Carcar with many tricycles, etc.

There are also very many jeepneys or multicabs. They are painted very colorfully and have the route listed on the side. A true jeepney is a small bus made from an American World War 2 Jeep and more recently they have been replaced or supplemented by multicabs which are newer, smaller multi-passenger vehicles as seen in the following photos:

Below are some photos of the multicab we rented to go to the church in Simala, Cebu:
